Descriptive Writing

  • Impact of synonyms, creating word lists of descriptors for an image.
  • Using thesaurus (free online visual thesaurus (**Visuwords**))
  • Text - image relationship. How does the image support the message in the text. The text does not have to describe the image.
  • Placing of text. Careful when placing text that it is not over top of someone's face, or blocks the main subject.
  • Wordle. A tag cloud or word cloud (or weighted list in visual design) is a visual depiction of user-generated tags, or simply the word content of a site. http://www.wordle.net/create
